One of New York’s most sophisticated small litigation practices located in Long Island and Westchester seeks an experienced attorney with strong research, writing and advocacy skills to work in our Complex Litigation Department on Long Island. Duties include conducting investigations (including researching and writing), drafting and preparing pleadings and briefs, and overseeing discovery in complex RICO, fraud litigations as well as commercial litigation and Federal Civil Rights litigation. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice and admitted in the State and Federal Courts of New York (New Jersey and/or Connecticut a plus), has experience handling complex litigation, and has excellent time management, writing, and organization skills. Experience in conducting and defending depositions is essential. Trial experience is helpful, but not required, but the desire to eventually conduct bench and jury trials is needed.
The right candidate must possess the following qualifications:
- 5 years of experience handling complex litigation cases, specifically RICO and fraud litigation
- Licensed to practice and admitted in New York State and Federal Courts (New Jersey and/or Connecticut a plus)
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent time management skills and an “eye for detail”
- Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and to collaborate with other staff, senior attorneys, and Partners.
